USDirtMovers.com was built from a real problem.

After purchasing a home, I needed what many people simply call “dirt work” — grading, moving dirt, cleanup, driveway work, and other property improvements that require the right equipment and the right operator. What I quickly learned was that finding the right person for that kind of work was not always easy.

Eventually, through word of mouth, I was able to connect with a mix of full-time professionals and skilled equipment owners who had the machines, experience, and willingness to help. Some were established contractors. Others were what I call “Dirt Dabblers” — people who may not move dirt full time, but own useful equipment, know how to operate it, and are willing to take on smaller local jobs.

There are plenty of homeowners, landowners, small builders, farmers, and businesses who need dirt work done. There are also many hardworking equipment owners who are capable of helping. But connecting the two can be harder than it should be.

I also learned that some lead services charge equipment owners or contractors $40 or more just to receive a lead — whether they get hired for the job or not. That might be manageable for larger companies, but it can be discouraging for smaller operators, part-time equipment owners, and Dirt Dabblers who are simply trying to earn extra income and serve people in their local area.

That is why USDirtMovers.com was created.

USDirtMovers.com is an American listing platform built to help customers find local dirt-moving help and to give equipment owners a fair place to list their services. At this time, listings are offered at no charge. I am not making money from this site right now. Someday, there may need to be a fee to keep the site running and growing, but if that happens, the goal will be to keep it fair and reasonable for both the small Dirt Dabbler and the professional contractor.

USDirtMovers.com will always be a listing service — much like a modern version of the classified section in a newspaper, but strictly for dirt movers. We do not manage the job, set prices, supervise work, or act as the contractor. Instead, we help people find each other.

I believe many people who own equipment have a strong work ethic. They are American workers, business owners, part-time operators, farmers, equipment owners, and tradespeople who want to do good work for their families and their customers.

This site was built to give those people a place to be found — and to make it easier for customers to find the help they need.
